Imagination Library

The Lake County Office of Education is proud to administer Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program in Lake County, California.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until their 5th birthday, no matter their family’s income.

In an effort to improve early literacy for Lake County’s children and help prepare them for kindergarten, the Lake County Office of Education began participating in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in 2012. Imagination Library provides 2,300 books to Lake County children every month.

Although the books from Imagination Library are free for children, there is an associated cost to the Lake County Office of Education of $25 per child, per year. Administered by the Lake County Office of Education, this program is funded by donations from local businesses, community organizations and individuals. We are thankful to our current major donors First 5 Lake, Adventist Health Clearlake and Charlotte Griswold of Clearlake, a former teacher from Konocti Unified School District.

Visit the Imagination Library website to donate and type in "Lake County Office of Education" when prompted to insert an affiliate name for the donation.
